What do our researchers do?
Our nine scientist are busy all day long. They scale rock faces looking for nests. Sample the intertidal zone to obtain a clear picture of the health of the habitat. They fish, not for fun but for samples to determine how well certain species are faring.
Work isn’t done only in the field. Each evening measurements are made and data entered. This particular study has been ongoing since 2005 and will continue to monitor the health of this coastal zone of Katmai National Park.
This has been an incredible learning experience and our hope is to again in the future travel with this group as their work continues.
take care,
